Eheheh... check this out . Screen-capped it here anyways 'cuz I'm not sure if the site is accessible outside of our Shell intranet.
Ngahaha...
(A bit of background for the curious: All the Shell IT communities around the world receive a bi-weekly business newsletter called Click IT. It's pretty new, started in June of last year. Recently they started running "a series of interviews profiling women who have succeeded in balancing a thriving career and a rewarding personal life". Ahem. Not quite sure how I fit the bill and why they picked me . Articles on previous women who have been featured can be found here.
I laughed when I saw the title though... "How Fizzy stays calm under pressure". Ahaha.. have received a stream of emails from my work colleagues all over, teasing me about it. Really don't know why they used that as the heading... is it that obvious that I'm under a lot of pressure and stress lately?? *snicker* *sings Queen's Under Pressure song* Am also surprised they used the picture of me drumming, 'cuz when they asked for my picture I gave them a nice, sincerely-smiling-and-professional-looking one but I guess they decided that didn't fit the real me aahahahahaahahaha! Dammit, I can't fool anybody, can I? )

I arrived home in Shah Alam late Friday night to find that my 5-season Gilmore Girls box set has arrived! I can scratch it off my wishlist! Yeaynesss! The package was opened and checked by Customs though.. but they let it through without taxing! Whee! All thanks to the 'Happy Birthday' message attached to the box, methinks....the people at Customs do have a heart after all. So yeay! Yeay! Yippety-yeay!
And despite having watched the earlier seasons countless of times... with the original DVDs now in my possession, my Gilmore Girls hardcore marathon shall begin once again!

Thomas has left for Rijswijk... so there's one less to the gang. Boohoohoo. Fare thee well, dear friend, in your quest! May you find a nice appartment there and reserve a pretty little room just for me in case I happen to have the privilege of visiting within the next two years!

Went to the usual monthly acoustic night organized by MMUsic Society in MMU Cyberjaya. This time around Eema also came (straight from work via ERL, and she slept over at my house that night) because Love Me Butch was the guest band. It's LMB's first time performing songs off their second album in an acoustic set. We felt so privileged! Hehe. They were awesome too... sadly they only did 5 songs (plus one The Cure cover.. Syarul pulled it off quite well too methinks! Am actually now curious to know how he'd do if he covered Just Like Heaven... one of my fave The Cure tracks...ahh but I digress). Anyway, good show, good show. Kudos to my boytoy Syam (aka The Lodestar Fanboy )... dude, good job on being director of the event (especially kerana telah menyediakan sofa merah VIP utk kami! Aaaahahaha!). Am always proud to see the committee working together like that.. keep it up guys Y'all keep organizing and I'll keep supporting and coming ok? (and making my demands as usual... "Air mana, air?".. "Sofa je?? Coffee table? Kipas? Serve kuih?".. "Where's my red carpet?"... "What? Bayar tiket? Excuuuuusee me? Do you want me here, or do you want me here?" <-- kalah diva lalalalaa.. aku rase satu hari aku akan kene campak over the balcony kihkihkih)

Making up
|
|
Was on the phone with my brother Izhar (who's in Melbourne) a few hours ago, and he said something about "..tengok Kaklong nyer fotopages tapi lama giler takde update ponnn!!" Hehe.. and I realized he was right (tapi Iz pun tak update yours! Hah! Update oso laar ).
I've been so extremely busy these past couple of weeks I have barely had the time to sit and update all my recent pictures. And there are loads!!! I think I've a backlog of about.. 15 entries give or take?? Wahh banyak gile! And I've got people pestering me for the pics already. Huhu. It's just that, I'm on the computer more than 12 hours a day and that's just for work, so when I'm not working I put my laptop away and not want to see it anymore, heh. So I end up not updating. Very the very the sorry.
To make up for it... I've managed to squeeze in as many entries as I can these past couple of hours... so here are some of the published ones:
Hong Kong Day 1
Hong Kong Day 2 - Amir's Camera
Hong Kong Day 2 - My Camera
Hong Kong Day 3 - Amir's Camera
Hong Kong Day 3 - My Camera
KSC Dance & Music Evening
Those should keep you for a few days, during which I'll finish off with the rest Sorry again, peeps. You guys are the best though, for still checking my pages even though there are no updates (I get the same number of hits every day!) Rajin lah korang... thank you thank you Truly appreciate it!
p/s: Unrelated to above rambles. Need to do a special shoutout to a birthday boy. HAPPY BIRTHDAY SMELLY!! (aka Nazrin)

But realization struck... it's dentist time for braces! Yikes.

Today, is inevitable. Today, is transformation day!!
Today, I...
Worked from home, and spent 6 solid hours working on documentation, in my nighties, without realizing that half of the day had passed by and I have yet to shower and eat. Talk about zoning out... sheesh.
Went for a haircut after a late lunch (or otherwise known as 'tea'). My fringe badly needed trimming. And too many occurences of coming into the office with wet hair and letting it dry in cold air-conditioning made it all frizzy and splitty. Plus, I needed some pampering.
Had an appointment that could no longer be put off with my orthodontist. My childish nature has apparently affected my teething development. Haha. My last permanent molar is finally pushing through (I guess it's been hibernating all these years and sort of forgot that it was supposed to pop out about a decade ago), but it doesn't have enough space to grow (yesssss surprisingly enough, this big mouth of mine is not enough to host all my teeth ) so it's pushing against my other teeth, fighting for space, and will continue to whack all the others out of place if I don't do anything about it. I could opt to pull the tooth out (but my orthodontist say he prefers not to do that 'cuz we're supposed to have 32 teeth and he'd like for me to be able to keep all my au naturel set of dentures whilst I'm still young!), or wear braces for the next 6-9 months to keep my alignment straight. And so... I said whattheheck, I'll go nerdy... Steve Urkel's always been my hero anyways! Alas, I'm wearing braces now, my friends at work call me Metal-Mouth, and they're happy because, in Shahrin's own words, "From now on if we want Fizzy to shut up we can just hold a magnet up to her mouth!".
<-- please add in braces for better representation of real self
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A bunch of us got together for a farewell dinner for our dear friend Thomas, who is leaving for Rijswik for two years. He's been harping on and on about wanting to go for Japanese buffet, so we all carpooled to Shogun in One Utama straight after work. And HOLY SASHIMI did we stuff ourselves like crazy! I was bloated... we were there from 7.30pm right up 'till closing (yes, once again we Grads have managed to be politely kicked out from an eating joint at closing time ). Definitely made the most of our buffet... the round trips made to the buffet table were never-ending... it was well worth it. Food was good too.. if any of you have high cravings for Japanese and want to eat as much as you can, I'd recommend Shogun. It's RM55 per head for the buffet dinner which really isn't too bad!
p/s: Special thanks and applaud to Kysern, who became very human indeed, for setting aside some time from his oh-so-consuming finance work and actually SPAMMING us and making all the arrangements and bookings for that day! Woahh! It's like... you have potential to be cool after all, Kysern! (peace man, peace )
