First batch of pictures! These are only the ones from my camera though... if I were to upload ALL pictures from ALL cameras (i.e. the pro photographer, the aunties, the uncles, the friends, the friends of aunties and uncles, the aunties and uncles of friends, you get the idea...) I'll never be done hehe. Honestly, you'd think this was one of the most photographed weddings ever! Kalah Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes okay...
So here you go... pictures of Friday night when we had the nikah ceremony. Izhar was soooo cheeky; you know how in majority of nikah ceremonies the groom would be all serious and sombre and stuff? Well he was the exact opposite! Walked in with a huge grin on his face and continued the whole "wheeeeheeee I'm getting married this is so cool" attitude the entire night through hahaha. But that didn't stop the tears from flowing from Mummy's and my eyes... I was telling myself I don't think I'd actually cry, but then when it came to the point where I realized that my brother is now someone's husband, and gone were our 'younger' days, the tears welled up and off I went sniffing like crazy!
But of course that only lasted a while before all the Talha-family craziness and wackiness sets in again hehe. Farah's family must be thinking, what have they gotten themselves into?

Supper at McDonald's with Weird, Hafiz and Nichol after watching an episode of WWW at Nicholl's place (was actually already on my way to watch it in KL but it started raining like crazy, so we decided to avoid the city center).

MakTeh and UncaBob are back wooohooooo!!! They're here for Izhar's wedding... plus it's been years since MakTeh's last trip home pun so it was all in due time!
They arrived from LA sometime around noon.. so later on in the day we all went to Nenek's house to meet up. Had loads of food to eat.. and then MakTeh took out all my kirimans! Hehehe... so happyyyyyyyy! All my Gilmore Girls merch and CDs (some old albums + some new releases) Thank youuuuu MakTehhhh!!!!
After Maghrib Weird and I took MakTeh and UncaBob for dinner (pegi Syed Section 11 jer... 'cuz you don't get mamaks in LA! Hehe). MakTeh immediately ordered an ais kacang 'cuz she saw it in a documentary whilst she was in LA and was craaaving for it

Singapore aMUSEment
|
|
My first trip out of the country this year!!! Hopefully of many... so far there's Bangkok and Jakarta/Bandung planned weehee!! Last year was awesome... 2006 saw me going to Bangkok, Hong Kong, Melbourne, Stockholm, Paris, Nancy, London, The Hague, Amsterdam, and Chiang Mai! Huhuhu my passport's due for renewal, and I hope I hope I hope I pray I pray I pray I get as many (or more!) opportunities to see more of the world this year. Amen
To start this year off... SINGAPORE! Well.. nothing much to shout about really. Travel was more for catching a much-anticipated concert instead of to see the city . I'd bought a ticket to the Muse concert at Fort Canning Park waaay before they announced their KL date. Still, I could've sold the ticket off or something but I didn't want to... I really wanted to see the concert venue. Plus I'm expecting the sound at Stadium Negara to suck heheh so I'd rather miss the KL one than the Singapore one, truth be told.
Anyhoo, since all my friends opted to go for the KL one, I was initially pretty much on my own to go to Singapore. Planned on making a solo day trip, but then Christian said he'd accompany me (awwww how shhhwweeeeeeeet!). He needed to get his tourist visa renewed anyways whilst waiting for his work permit, so it was a kill-two-birds-with-one-trip thing. We thought we'd take the bus down, but then coincidentally, Baba had to make a visit to JB for work, so we hitched a ride with him instead
So the three of us drove down to Johor Bharu (well... Baba and I drove, Chris slept!!!! Haha okay okay not all the way... ), with the two guys ganging up on me when listing out what MEN want in WOMEN. And no, I'm not going to repeat the things they said! Despite some detours (had to drop by my Putrajaya house along the way 'cuz the silly klutz that I am forgot to bring my concert ticket along with me! D'oh! Thank god I realized it soon enough), we arrived in JB at the anticipated hour. Thankfully it didn't rain and there were no floods along the way or anything.
Had lunch at a fave restaurant of Baba's, before he dropped us off at the Larkin bus terminal so that we can catch a bus to Singapore. Baba went off to work, apparently given the assurance from Christian that he would take care of me and make sure I stayed safe whilst in Singapore. I, however, doubt that my dad trusted him more than me. Hehehe.
And thus, volunteered bodyguard in tow, I crossed the border into Singapore. We headed straight to Orchard Road and went to look for stuff Amir and Weird asked for. My uncomplaining bodyguard then became my shopping-bag carrier. *pats Christian's head* Such chivalry and loyalty astound me... (but it doesn't mean I believe everything you say! Haha! Sorry dear ). After half the day had finally gone, we trekked towards the concert venue at Fort Canning Park. The lines to go into the venue were already long by then, so I decided not to join the queue and we hung out for a while around the park instead. It was only later that I went in...Christian didn't watch the concert though (wouldn't let me get him a ticket!) and went off in search of a cybercafe to hang out at instead whilst he waited for me.
The concert was really good! I was really impressed by the sound quality, as it was an outdoor venue and it's not easy to get awesome sound at an outdoor concert. But theirs was crisp clear... it had the right balance and tone and it was like listening to a CD... I was very pleased. I also got a spot to stand at the light and sound mixing console so I was engrossed with watching the lighting engineer control and work on the stage lighting too. It was fantastic... And it goes without saying that the band was fantastic too. So yeah, I really enjoyed myself and am very pleased 'cuz I feel like it was well worth my money.
We crossed back into Johor after the concert, and Baba picked us up at the Malaysian immigration. We stopped at a mamak place for food, before making the trip back to KL. Baba drove first but only up until Yong Peng, after which he went into the back to rest and I took over the wheel. I actually like driving at night 'cuz I find it calming... so I didn't really mind. Drove non-stop right until we reached KL at almost 4am heheh.
All in all it was a tiring but great trip... I'm glad I went! Thanks Baba for getting us to Johor!! And thank you Christian for accompanying me and making sure the Singapore baddies don't get to me!

Went to Midvalley with Amir on Sunday afternoon. I got new hair (colour + trim.... touch up sket before Izhar's wedding hehe!), new shoes, and best of all... a sparkly, shiny, red and pretty NEW DIGITAL CAMERA!
It's got a touch screen, and it's shiny, and the features are cool, and it's pretty, and I like the sharpness and colour of the images, and it's shiny, and you can do these cool paint-type edits on the pictures on the camera itself, and it's pretty, and it's got a good start-up time, and it's shiny.... and well, yeah I'm in love with my new toy (my old point-and-shoot Casio Exilim digicam is busted... I got it more than 2 years ago and it's gone into retirement so I figured it's time to get a new one).
After we got our shopping done, Amir left for home whilst I stayed on to get my hair done. Then Christian came and we had dinner, waited for Weird and Hafiz to arrive and then watched The Pathfinder @ GSC. The movie was okay, story was interesting but there was barely a script! Majority of the scenes were filled with KILL KILL CUT DIE WAARHH GRUNT SNORT KILL STAB BITE ARRRRHH BLOOD EYEBALL!!! I spent most of the time squirming behind my shawl....
Oh and that night we ourselves could've used a pathfinder of our own when we got lost in Cheras. Long story, but it's all CHRISTIAN'S FAULT *looks pointedly at Britboy*

It was my friend from work, Azwan's birthday... and since a bunch of us just love picking on him all the time at work and he's such a great sport about it, we started masterminding a surprise birthday party for him! A bunch of us decided to meet up at this karaoke place in Ampang on Saturday afternoon, and when he came we surprised him with a cake and a card and balloons and a present and he was so pleased hehehe.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY AZWAN!!!! You're so anyaaaaaaaa *mega-glomps the Zwan*
(Proud Zwan with his singing birthday entourage)
We had a really fun time, singing for 4 hours in total hahaha. Major highlights include Ameir doing his Lou Bega thing with Mambo No. 5, Christian singing Back For Good and ALL the guys doing a whole boyband act, and us girls doing Girls Just Wanna Have Fun and Spice Girls' Stop... it was a laugh!
After the party, Shahrin dropped Christian and I off at Midvalley and we joined Muna, Eema and Hairie to watch Sinking of Japan. It was an alright movie lah... the effects and cinematography were pretty impressive for a Japanese film. Not surprising really since it's said to be one of the most big-budgeted movie to come out of Japan. But the story line was a bit... nyeh.. so-so. Very predictable, and they sorta wasted a LOT of airtime with this soppy love story going on in the midst of all the chaos and natural destruction. A tad overdone on the drama end! Very the jagung dicelup keju. Eema actually wrote an entry about it entirely in Malay and aahahahahaha it's hilarious! (or perhaps only to us Trimontels... hmm...)

Haha (thank god we didn't watch it with Mummy and MakNgah, else I think the cinema would flood with their drool *ewwww* over Kevin Costner! )

Pictures from New Year's Eve! I, as has been my way for many years already, opted not to go out that night. I really don't find hustling and bustling amongst a huge crowd of people as an appealing a way to spend my night hehe.
So Eema, Muna, and Hanis came over and we had this slumber party thing going on to welcome in the new year. Near midnight we ran outside and played with fireworks leftover from Hari Raya hehehe. True, it in no way compared to the scale of the fireworks going off in KL or Damansara or anything, but we had sooo much fun running around in our sleep clothes, lighting up the fireworks! (Eema was especially funny, scampering away from a lit fuse in her kain batik aahahaha!)
After that we gossiped and watched DVDs in the attic until the wee hours of the morning (oh and I got struck with a bad case of food poisoning so a majority of the early hours of my 2007 was spent in the toilet ). Oh well. Farewell to the shit of 2006!!!
WELCOME 2007!!!!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR
