Kelly is going 'on loan' to Shell Global Solutions for a year, and their office is based in KLCC, so she's leaving us! *sobs*. We all went out for a Farewell Kelly @ Malee lunch on her last day... behold pictures of her rejoicing in casual attire.. 'cuz there ain't none of that in KLCC! Bwahaha! 
We'll miss ya Kells... All the best in SGS!

Family dinner at VillaMay as it was Izhar's last night at home before heading back to Melbourne. We'd had another family dinner at TGIF the night before, but no pics from that one.. (oh and Farah wasn't there). Lagipun TGIF tak secantik or posh VillaMay! Heheh.

I hear wedding bells!!!
Today's a big day for our family... rombongan merisik to Farah's house! Yep.. it's been discussed about for a while now, Izhar's marriage to Farah... and finally we're putting things into motion. Izhar's back on his winter break, so before he disappears back to the lands down under, we had to settle the engagement! (Well ok, technically engagement is bertunang.. but since we're skipping the whole tunang thing and going straight for the nikah, dah merisik ni kire engagement laa ok... mere technicalities, I say )
So after a couple of weeks of planning and sebok-nyebok and inform sedara-mara and Mummy & Baba learning on the ways of the typical adat2 (haha... sebelum ni kami smue lost okey kene buat ape), we had the entire family gathering at our house first by 2.30pm, and convoyed to Farah's house at 3pm. Farah's family were there to receive us, and the men of both families proceeded with the ceremony... I could hardly keep a straight face though and kept giggling 'cuz firstly, I couldn't believe this was really happening.. it seemed so surreal, to be THIS directly involved in a wedding-to-be... secondly, I couldn't believe my brother was gonna get married... and thirdly, it was funny watching Paklong, Baba, Pak Uda and Atuk fumble their way around the proceedings . Smorang macam.. blur-blur... kite buat ni betul ke ek? Salah ke? Terlupa cakap la.. terlebih cakap la... it was funny  . Dah la everyone got nervous 'cuz Farah's uncle who was the wakil for their family announced that he was the holder of the Adat Pepatih (orang nogori la katekan).. and all of us were like, ".... Erk!". Haha. It was fun. Don't know if it's appropriate to say that a majlis merisik is 'fun', but I enjoyed myself 
Izhar, of course, was left behind at home 'cuz apparently the 'groom-to-be' never follows during the Merisik ceremony... so during the discussions between the two families, I took my phone out and sent an SMS to Izhar saying that he was rejected by Farah's uncle and that the whole thing was OFF! Bwaahahaha... Izhar was like, "Ha?? Really? Biar benar!" I is amused! I are evil! 
Anyway, the ceremony went well... Izhar came by later once it was all over, ever the romantic gentleman, bringing flowers for Farah (tapi kene marah sbb tak bawak bouquets for the moms too!). Pastu we had makan-makan.. and then it was over... selesai sudah! Everyone breathed a sigh of relief. That's one ceremony down... and a bigger one to plan to! (When asked what his colour theme for the wedding was gonna be, Izhar replied "Colour Manchester United!!!!!" *facepalm*. This, from a boy who's ready to be married? Hahaha. I told him I'll wear red but have massive green lettering down the back of my kebaya saying 'LIVERPOOL RULEZ' bwaahahahaa!) Izhar will be back again for his Summer holidays and we're planning for the marriage to be in January, insyaAllah 
Yeayness!! I'm gonna get me a sister-in-law!

Pictures from a round of auditions for our very own Idols! Haha.. yep no kidding. The Kelab Shell Cyberjaya is organizing its own IT for Shell Idols competition... we have two Audition sessions, after which the ones who get through (as decided by three in-house judges) will proceed to the Quarter Finals. From there, the entire community at our office can start voting for their favourite contestant!
Funny thing is that, I was there during the auditions as a camera-woman... taking shots of those who got through to put up on our website. But then I got talked into (or forced? Hmm.. but I was willing enough boohaha) auditioning myself! So I sang (laughed like a loony more like) in front of the judges (dah la tu conflict of interest.. Sin Yee, being the KSC Chairperson, is my co-committee member AND fellow WDC colleague... and Bong is my band's keyboardist! Haha). And they let me through! I passed the auditions! I think it was merely because they wanted me to be the William Hung of the show

I played mastermind and host to a surprise birthday party for Muna and Hairie! It was actually supposed to be a party for Yang too (whose birthday fell on the 24th of June.. Muna's is 28th.. Hairie's is 30th) but she'd gone back to Dubai for work... so Yang... ni Fizah hadiahkan gambar2 party surprise utk Yang ok
Of course, none of this all could've been achieved without my partners-in-parties friends. I thought a barbecue outside in the garden on a lovely day would be just perfect, so after days of planning and komplot-ing, we pulled it off! Huda volunteered to come early and contribute a spaghetti dish which she cooked. Shafiq also arrived early and got forced into peeling potatoes and manning the barbecue pit hehehe (I am on a personal mission to get that boy to be a useful man and learn his way around the kitchen). Not long later Feruz arrived and helped out too... and after that Weird and Felix arrived and said "Food dah siap??" . Hampeh tul.
By about 5pm I received SMS-es from Eema and Hairie saying they were almost there. Eema and Muna were in Amin's car, and Muna thinks that they were coming to my house just to hang out, eat chocolate muffins I'd made and simply lepak. Hairie on the other hand thought that he was coming to my house merely to pick us up before going to a movie. I even lied to him to the extent that I'd made movie bookings lah and so on... hehehe. I even used some silly reason or other to get Abas' phone number from him without arousing his curiosity! Haha. So it was fun to see them come around the side of my house into the backyard and we all screamed SURPRISEEEEEEEE!!! Only problem was, most of the other invitees to the surprise party belum sampai. Cheh! Birthday boy and girl sampai dulu!
We had a fantastic time, the barbecue was great and the weather was nice throughout the evening (except a little later when it rained at around 10pm and we ran around salvaging stuff and carrying them into the house!). We ate, watched some silly videos from my Europe trip (g-stringed acrobats wheee!  ), gelak guling-guling, the girls swooned over Nate Berkus on Oprah Winfrey, the guys drooled over swimsuit model wannabes on Sports Illustrated's Model search, we ran around in water fights with the small toy plastic water-guns I gave around (courtesy of sponsorship from EZ Party! hehe), we played Pictionary and Taboo, we ate some more, riiiiight up to the World Cup Final match! Tapi ramai dah balik aa by then, heheh. We watched in on the big screen still... much more fun and exciting! Tapi emo ah... emo gile Italy menang *sob*
But anyway... thaaaaaank youuuu sooo much to all those who came! And ate! And helped out! Even Hairie himself was up to his elbows in grime, helping me clean the barbecue pit, despite my constant protests that it was HIS party and he shouldn't be cleaning up! Thank you korang for a lovely lovely day.. Huda, Shafiq, Feruz, Eema, Muna, Amin, Weird, Felix, Koi, Shy, Yaakub, Saie, Cipau, Nina, Azahary, Azahary's friend (lupe nama dia.. remind me?), Abas, Wa (tekejut tengok Wa muncul, I didn't know he knew Abas and Hairie too! Small world indeed.. apetah lagi Shah Alam kan heheh), and their other lengchai friend.. lupe nama gak sebab asyik dok panggil lengchai je lalalaaa. Hope you all had as much fun as I did
