Pre-Raya @ Saie's

Saie made these...
and these... 4 jenis in total
Rajinnye Saie!!!! Hehe. And the cookies were yummy
View all 19 photos...
As with our customary yearly tradition, we went to Saie's house the Friday night before Raya ('cuz Saie always heads back to one of her far-away kampungs --Singapore or Kelantan-- a couple of days before Raya). Every year she'll let us know when she'll be heading back and when her cookies would be ready, and we'd swarm her house for a pre-Raya informal open house hehe. Yang was back from Dubai so she came... but Nina and Aza couldn't come. Lia pun takde wuwuwu...

We hung out from about 10pm till the wee hours of the morning... pastu terus sahur and terus tido hehe.

gee... it was nice just mingling around together. Thu 2-Nov-2006 16:12

Fast... faster...fasting...

Monday...
Tuesday...
Wednesday...
View all 4 photos...

Wahey it's fasting month again! First week of puasa and it's a kerraayzeee week at work... but thankfully (and amazingly) enough I manage to return in time for buka. Of course, that meant continuing work from about 10 to midnight, and starting again the next morning right after Subuh! Huh.. I've never felt so productive

Anyway, this entry is to recap some other entries I've uploaded that were way delayed. Here they are:

We Are Scientists
Grad's PAINTBALL (woohoo!) outing
GSAP Appreciation Dinner (GroovIT performance)
INXS live in KL
SITI Cyberjaya Annual Dinner 2006

Didn't want this entry to be another boring text-filled one, so pics accompanying are my daily buka puasa meals! Hehe. Exluding Sunday, the first day of puasa which I had my buka puasa in Shah Alam with my family, from then on it was:

Monday, day 1: Went into work at 8.30a.m so I left at 5, a and that gave me enough time to cook me up a pretty decent meal. Had rice with omelette, fried fish (those tiny bawal fish... are they bawal? Heheh), and ayam masak merah...

Tuesday, day 2: Got stuck in a meeting until about a quarter past 6, rushed back home and had to decide on something quick to cook. Dunked a piece of chicken in water to quickly defrost it, and made myself nasi goreng kampung with fried chicken. I finished cooking juuuuuuuust as the Azan sounded!

Wednesday, day 3: Hehe.. today best sket 'cuz I had teman for buka puasa!! Sya was in Cyberjaya so she suggested breaking fast together, so Sya, Shafik and I went to Alamanda. Initially we wanted to buka at Pizza Hut but it was full! Huh... so we had it at A&W instead. Dapat makan waffle for dessert! Yosh! Sankyu Sya and Sapik sebab teman shopping (Sapik jadi tukang tolak trolley kihkihkih) and makan!

Thursday: Back to having only Elliot as my teman buka puasa . Kinda sad.. Mummy ajak buka together with the family tonight, as they were going to go eat at Fatty Crab in PJ, but I couldn't go 'cuz I had an important telecon at 8pm Left the office at 5, reached home and did some reading to rest for a while, before starting to cook. Made grilled dory with potatoes, carrots, and a tiny portion of spaghetti with tomato sauce. Did some work whilst eating, had a quick wash-up and prayed, and then dialled in to the telecon, which surprisingly (and thankfully) enough went smoothly without much issues. Perhaps it was too early in the morning for the Americans to have much to question us on? Heheh

Hmm.. as for sahur (I'm sure Mummy at least is wondering..)... don't worry Ma, I haven't been starving myself! So far I've had variations consisting of Frosties, roti Milo, murtabak, and some mornings nothing at all aside from a glass of juice (bangun, minum, tengok Oprah Winfrey, buat keje! Hehe). Planning to have a toasted turkey-n-pineapple sandwich tomorrow. And I don't have to worry about buka 'cuz have got a huge 'date' with Azahary, Nina, Dona, Eema, Muna and Tiong so yeay!

Oh.. and I have yet to set foot on ANY pasar Ramadhan....

yang hari khamis tu sedap la

selamat hari raya aidilfitri buat semua warga malaysia. di mana jua anda berada

Picnic @ Ulu Yam

At Nina's house...
We're ready to go but Yang pulak nak gi berak!!! Aaahahahaha!
Woi.. penat aku bangun awal... cepat laaaa gi sungai jom
View all 106 photos...
I don't quite know how it happened, but semi-spontaneously we all decided to have a picnic at Ulu Yam! I think it's credits to Nina mainly for masterminding the whole thing heheh. It's been aaaaaaaaaaaaaagess since any of us had been there and we thought we'd see how the place is like now. Kononnye everyone semangat gile so nak pegi awal2... planned to meet at Nina's house by 8.30am I think, but as usual since we are friends with one Mak Datin *looks pointedly at our datin...*, and another pulak sesat sesat (ya lar kawan kite lagi sorang tu pulak ntah2 tahu jalan kat udara je hehe), ended up sampai rumah Nina pun dah lambat.. almost 11am kot?

From Nina's house (in Wangsa Maju) we took only 2 cars and made the short drive to Ulu Yam. Dah nak terjadi pulak, sampai2 je Dona dah tergolek and terpele'ot kaki! Her ankle swelled and everyone was like "Haaa Fizah! President PBSM... tolong Dona cepat!" :surprised:

Anyway, after her ankle was safely wrapped (thanks to Aza who korbankan his t-shirt as my substitute kain anduh!) we helped her wobble along to a spot we'd chosen for our picnic. There were quite a number of people there already (Nina: "Wheee abang ashkarrrr!" Me: "Weewwittt mat rempit!" ), but thankfully we found a nook to ourselves. Since none of us had had breakfast, we immediately spread out all the food we'd brought along and started eating. Dona brought some nasi lemak she 'stole' from her mom's restaurant... Nina cooked some meehun goreng... Yang and Fik brought all the utensils... Aza brought drinks and snacks... I made brownies (pukul 2 pagi the night before! Fresh okey!) and brought fruits too. Dah bukan taraf picnic la ni... memang makan besar! Haha.

After makan we played in the water, but only Dona, Aza and Fik really swam. Yang, Nina and I opted not to get ourselves entirely wet heheh

All in all it was a really fun outing! Wished Lia and Saie were there too though . Can't wait for the next random, spur-of-the-moment outing we can come up with hehe

More pics at Yang's page

waa... so many nice pics. it somehow looked much better than the actual site. well done, babe!!! so much worth waiting for... Thu 2-Nov-2006 16:38

Ah.. before I get around to uploading pics from my most recent trip to The Netherlands, I'd just like to point out that I've uploaded ALL the pictures from my June 'Eurotrip' to Sweden, France and the UK (for those of you who might've missed the entries, 'cuz they're pretty backdated ). To make it easier for your perusal, I'll link them all up here:

Day 2 - City Tour, Djurgarden, Fafangan sunset: Stockholm
Day 3 - Journey: Stockholm to Paris to Nancy

Additional images - All days combined from MakTeh's camera

Haha... hope that'll occupy all of you for a few days

p/s: I wanna add a side note on my new tag picture, 'cuz I gotta give credit where credit's due, hehe. Was on the webcam for a quick chat with a 'perahu' friend of mine ( ) and that picture *points up* was courtesy of him screen-capping me during a crazy moment . And then he said, "you really do make me dizzy, Miss Fizzy!" which was in reference to what Thomas, another friend whom I met during Shell Life, started calling me (he called me Dizzy Miss Fizzy and said I should name my band the same, based on this). I find it all touching and amusing so I've put the picture and the words together and made it into my new tag 'cuz it makes me----> Lalala...

SITI Cyberjaya Annual Dinner 2006

Kak Shima going over the layout plans with the ballroom manager

Door gifts and lucky draw prizes to arrange!

The company's annual dinner was held at the Palace of the Golden Horses this year, and was themed 'IT4Shell Cyberjaya Cultural Mosaic - REMINISCENCE OF THE MALACCAN EMPIRE'. The committee thought it fitting, how the old Malaccan empire had all these huge mixture of people from different cultures and countries coming together in trade, and that's just like what we have in SITI

I was at the hotel since eaaarly that morning with the rest of the committee, everyone running around like semi-headless chickens, putting all the last-minute actions in place and hoping we'd pull off this massive event. Later on in the day the stage and equipments finally arrived and were set up, so the bands had a quick go at soundchecking before I ran off to the hotel room to get myself dressed and ready. Thankfully enough all the committee didn't have to worry about our costumes, 'cuz Shima got those settled and rented for us. So all we had to do was turn up and we were dressed, made-up, and our hairs were done all for us, yeay! I was assigned the role of the British missionary's wife, so I had this bright green colonial dress to wear and it was fun AND funny . Everyone kept making fun of how big my skirt was, but hey, finally I knew what the Disney princesses feel like when walking around and running in that kind of dress! It wasn't easy to maneuvre, I tell you that

The dinner itself went pretty well, but I have to admit that it all passed by as a blur to me. Hardly sat at my table for long as I kept getting up for one agenda after another... first there was the opening gambit, a grand entrance of the 'Sultan of Melaka' (played by Rosli haha) along with his entourage (a bunch of us in our roles). After that Sin Yee and I gave speeches and presentations for the KSC, and immediately following that I was emceeing the IT4S Idols segment where the top 3 winners performed. That was followed by a really nice 'drama tari' dance ensemble by our very own staff (multi-talented okeyy!), and we also had Adibah Noor entertain us with her superb voice and sense of humor. I got a chance to sit and enjoy these performances, but right after that I was off to the stage with my bandmates to perform. We did an 80's-themed performance, playing a medley of Michael Jackson songs (we combined Thriller, Billy Jean and Beat It) as the opening, followed by Heaven is a Place on Earth, and closing it off with Queen's I Want To Break Free (yeah!). Everyone responded really well to our performance, and were amused with me playing the drums in my dress hahaha. Skill okey, Mike Portnoy pun penah ke main drum pakai colonial dress?

The night ended quite late, with a couple more bands' performances and many lucky draws and all that. Much fun, much fun. Of course, the usual rounds of picture-taking were not missed! Finally everyone started streaming out and going home, and it was waaaay waaay waaaaaaaaaaaaay past midnight when I changed back into my normal clothes (but thankfully Darth Monty didn't turn into a pumpkin).

Definitely a long, tiring day...but it was fun, plus I'm really glad the whole thing went well!

tapi mane gambar picnic jah?

INXS Live in KL

JD dah bukak langkah

View all 60 photos...
Muna, Eema and I went to watch the INXS concert at Stadium Negara. It was a good concert, and we were well entertained watching JD wriggling and writhing away on stage . Thank god I don't like the guy, and that he wasn't Mig Ayesa, 'cuz otherwise I would've jumped him right there on stage haha. '

We weren't allowed cameras in but I sneaked mine (thanks in part to Eema's jacket )... did it all especially for Weird, who couldn't go. So babe... enjoy the piccies!

p/s: Before the concert started, they had the big screens on and were projecting random pictures for a competition to win a guitar autographed by INXS. Apparently anyone in the audience can send an MMS to the number on screen, and should take a 'picture of yourself rocking out' at the concert and once sent they'll flash it all on screen. I decided to test it out and sent a picture from my phone.... and it worked! They flashed it on the big screen! Now, the funny thing is that I sent in a picture of myself wearing a colonial British dress, taken whilst I was being fitted for my annual dinner costume! So we were all over the place laughing 'cuz it was funny seeing all these pics of people in their 'rock' poses and then a picture of a girl in a huuuge bright green dress tetiba tersentil there! Aahahaha... oh the lulz

WaAaAaAaaaahhhhhhhh!!! spank you very much for the piccies!

dammit...stupid one in a million..I nak pegi concert tuh jugaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaak!

GSAP Appreciation Dinner

We were invited to perform at the appreciation dinner of the GSAP team in Shell Malaysia. It was an honour for us to be able to perform for colleagues outside of Shell IT Intl, so of course we accepted the invitation and got our set ready. We cheated a little though, playing more or less the same songs we prepared for the annual dinner, 'cuz it was so last minute and all heheh. In exchange for our performance we got free food and a table at the dinner

The event was quite fun, held to celebrate the completion of the GSAP roll-out project in Malaysia. it was themed 'Bloomer's Nite' so everyone had to come in a floral get-up. They had some karaoke competitions between the teams and it was hillarious . In another competition they had selected people fromt the floor come up on stage and pretend that they were The Beatles and give a performance, haha. Even Mohzani Wahab (Shell Malaysia Trading SB Managing Director) took part, putting on this funky green wig and totally rocking out! Oh and they all loved our performance and thought we totally rocked ahaha... Mohzani told me he'd always wanted to play drums too and that I was impressive, and another guy told me the best drummer he'd seen ever was at a concert in Singapore, and that I came a close second! Waahaha... such complements!! Shucks.. *bangge gile*
