Pictures here are to accompany a recent blog entry of mine on a tale of 5 kitties  First few pictures were taken with my phone camera 'cuz I was too lazy to run upstairs for my digital. The rest were taken by Amir with his cam when he reached home.
Shobek is da shiznit!
A short background story on our lucky, spoiled and arrogant tomcat
Tobek was actually a stray kitten that our maid found and took in. He had bad skin problems then and his fur was all patchy and unkempt. We took him in and after countless visits to the vet and plenty of TLC, he became a very handsome cat indeed! As for how he got his name... we were thinking of a name for him and at that point it just so happened that I was heading to watch the Spiderman movie (the first one... and I just realized that it was merely about 4 years ago kan? Has it really been just 4 years since we had Tobek? Hehe.. rase macam dah lame je). So I SMS-ed my brother and told him let's name the cat Tobey (for Tobey Maguire), but we shall call him Tobek 'cuz dia buruk and bulu dia tobek hahahaha. And thus Tobek was formalized... but Izhar likes to call him Shobek, nama manja laa..
His first 'wife' was another cat whom we took in, a beautiful whitish-grey queen named Molly (but we called her Molek... kasi kampung sket). He sired kittens with her but sadly Molek was too young to handle her offspring and they didn't survive. Another tragic event was when Molek's life too was cut short, as she was attacked by stray dogs who had managed to get into the compounds of our house one sad night 
Now that Tobek is an adult I can only begin to wonder on the number of his conquests (which also include Pia's cat Combi). He has become the 'Don Juan' of our neighbourhood... siring so many with the domestic cats as well as stray ones in Section 9 Shah Alam that our neighbours know about him and tell us of his kittens that they'd seen running around!
To Tobek, I wish him a long life of pasang-muke-hensem and may the cat generation thrive and prosper with the seeds of his love

Some last few remaining pics of the first day of Raya...
Went to Nishah's open house in Kelana Jaya after Maghrib...
Stayed until about 9.30pm before dashing off to KRU...
Came back home past midnight with Amir in heavy rain and a cat ran into our driveway behind us and wanted to follow us in..
It was mewing and seemed very lost and hungry so we gave it food and water and took pictures...
If it was still there in the morning we intended to print out missing cat posters to see if we could find its owner...
But the next morning she was gone so we figured she'd found her way home

Explosions in the Sky

Yet another tradition... the family always gathers on the last day of Ramadhan and have buka puasa together at our house. Weird and I thought we hadn't hung out with our cousins for quite a while so we thought a sleepover would be fun. Convinced all the parents to let us (just the older ones heheh) have our slumber party so yeay!
We watched Amazing Race, we played with fireworks, we drank bottles of root/ginger/horehound/peach beer, we got McDonalds take-out, we played Pictionary and Taboo, and we had such an awesome time we broke the curfew MakLang set on us (ooops...sowwy MakLang!  )
My cousins rock and I have the bestest family in the universe!
