These two are stray kittens but they hang around my house a lot... their mom is a pet belonging to one of my neighbours, I think. When she was pregnant she liked to sneak into my house... I'd come down from my room only to find her napping away comfortably on my couch or enjoying the warmth of the top of my washing machine! Don't know why her owners don't want to take the kittens in... or maybe they're just a bit too wild to be taken care of. They are SOOOO afraid of humans! These two wouldn't let any humans come near them, they run away frantically even if you so much as look at them! But as of recently I started feeding them (so kesian 'cuz they're always huddling together on my porch)... so far they still get jumpy when I so much as move a little bit closer to them. But when they're really enjoying their food I get to touch them a bit... so hopefully sooner or later I'll manage to gain their trust a bit more. They're fun to just have around... I love watching them play with each other whilst Í'm warming up the car or washing dishes or whatever.
Because of their jumpy, edgy behaviour towards people, I've named one Panic and the other Scram  It's kinda fun to open the door in the morning and shout out "PANIC!!! SCRAMM!! Nak makaaaan?" hehehe.

The Marriage Series Part 3: The Wedding...

On the same day as Saie's engagement, just that night, I attended my friend Fatin's (from Shell) wedding. She looked really pretty and it was a beautiful ceremony.. quite a large number of us from work turned up and we had fun.
Then after the ceremony (which was held at Hotel Singgahsana in PJ), all of us went to A&W for more food and dessert hehehe. I had a good time.. it was a great night 
Pictures are a mixture of those from my camera and from Michelle's (thanks for sharing dearie!). Johan took a lot of pics as well and I'm waiting for him to share 'em out...

The Marriage Series Part 2: The Engagement...

25th November 2006... Saturday morning... woke up early despite having had a late night out! All because my best friend Saie is getting engaged hehe. Oh the sacrifices I make! Haha
Aza parked at my house and we went together in one car. Both of us were quite surprised when we arrived at Saie's house, 'cuz the ceremony was grander than we expected! Ingatkan kecik-kecik jer... skali wahhh! Cantik and grand jugak yer! Or maybe it's just us not being used to any of this engagement ceremony stuff. First best friend that's doing this la katekan.. 
Dah la tu, when we arrived (Yang appearing not long later, but Dona lambat sket 'cuz she had a meeting with her lecturer), Aza, Yang and I immediately started complaining of hunger! Tanpa segan silu terus naik to the 'special' room and melepet on the nicely-made bed! Haha.. pastu guling-guling kelaparan... I even threatened to walk to the mamak place around the corner if the ceremony didn't start soon . We also threatened to start eating the chocolates used as hantaran...good for Saie that she has friends with very high self restraints hahaha.
But yeah, it was all a bit delayed because the caterer sampai lambat and had to heighten up the tents out front. Finally the rombongan lelaki sampai (minus Cipau of course) and the proceedings began. However because some of the aunties behind us were chit-chatting away we couldn't really hear what was being said... so, kami hantu-hantu kawan Saie ni sneaked into the kitchen and started eating the currypuffs prepared for the guests . Slambe curik from the stove hahahahahahahahaa. Pasni sure sedare-mare Saie kutuk her best friends kihkihkih Takpe la kan... we were desperate. Lapar gile dah...
Once all the discussions and pantun-pantun were over, we get to makan!! Yosh!! Kitorang pun sergah laa buffet table tu... and made ourselves at home by eating inside dok bawah kipas whilst orang lain dok kat hari yang panas di luar hihihi. Tapi Mami Saie tak marah pun so it's ok la kan? Kan? Kan?  When Cipau's family had left, we called Cipau and asked him to come over. Tak tahu la dia ngan Hud pusing mane... patutnye dari Seksyen 11 jer should take like, a few minutes je to get to Saie's house tapi diorang ni sampai punye la lambat. Penat si Saie duduk lawa2 kat hantaran smue menunggu pakcik tu datang for photo session. Cake pun cair... and kitorang pun dah rasmikan all the gifts... too bad Cipau!

Oh oh oh... Saie buat announcement.. pasni dia fly on Emirates jer.. (ntah2 kalau gi honeymoon pun naik Emirates).. 'cuz Nina couldn't come sebab she had her Air Asia training... Hawa (Saie's cousin) couldn't come 'cuz of work with SIA... and E'am pun takleh datang sebab fly ngan MAS... so smue airlines tu dah kene palang by Saie for ruining her friends' attendance on her big day... hehe. Yang datang so Emirates je yang dapat nod of approval

Pictures of Yang's 'merisik' ceremony! This happened on the night of November 11th.. Fikri's family came to Yang's house to ask for her hand in marriage. It was timed just right because the next day, Sunday 12th November, was Yang's brother's wedding ceremony. So the entire house was already filled with relatives and decorations for a wedding!
I was actually on assignment with the Shell branding team.. but I asked to be excused for the night and managed to attend Yang's ceremony. Aza and Saie were there too, and Dona came a bit later. It was quite funny 'cuz all of us were peeping over the balcony from the upper floor onto the floor below to 'eavesdrop' on the conversation between the families hehehe. Dah la tu, Fik pun muncul tengah2 jalan... ape ni muke tak malu

As most of my friends and family can attest, I pretty much 'disappeared' for the past four days... and the reason was, I had been on an assignment with Shell. Through some stroke of luck, I was asked to create a video diary on an insider's view on the filming of a Shell commercial! And thus, since Thursday morning and right through to today evening, I'd been following the filming crew around to all the locations and got to experience and watch everything that happens behind the scenes of the making of a global advertisement 
Now, because I'm not very sure which aspects of the project are P&C and which aren't, I'm going to stay on the safe side and not say or show anything much just yet. I think I'm going to have to wait until the campaign is officially launched (sometime early next year!) before I can publish the details of what went on and upload all the pictures I took.
But, for now... I know I can say that:
- I had soooooo much fun the entire four days!! It was tiring, but it was such an amazing experience!
- The advertising team that led the project are a lovely bunch of people, and so was the production crew. I had a great time meeting new people, learning new things and making new friends!
- AND! AND! AND! I got to meet award-winning directors!!! The Director of the shoot is Kevin Macdonald of Oscar-winning One Day in September fame, and the Director of Photography is John Mathieson, whose involvement in Box Office movies are too many to mention individually (but they do include Gladiator, Hannibal, and Kingdom of Heaven! Which pretty much means there's only ONE degree of separation now between myself and ORLANDO BLOOM!  . I should've asked John for Orlie's phone number... drats). Seeing these top-of-the-industry professionals work has truly been an eye-opening and inspiring experience for me.
Yep yep... I'm definitely thanking my lucky stars (and seashells) for this!

And I had a BUTLER!!
His name was Donald! 
And he came to my door just as I started jumping up and down on the bed out of sheer excitement! How embarassing...
And I was so awed by the fact that I had a butler at my disposal that I didn't say anything, just nodded, and only when he'd walked off back down the hallway did I think, "D'oh! Should've taken a picture with him!" 
I did consider picking up the phone and requesting him to come back for a quick photo.. but I still have my dignity okey

Tak sangke dpt merasa tido hotel posh gitew.... slalu boleh afford backpackers' inn je hehehe.

1...first thing I saw when I came into the office. Got a bit confuzzled as to who 'Daddy' was for a while, before it dawned on me that Rohan must've arrived from London (confirmed not long later by my colleagues around my cubicle telling me he was looking for me)
2...true enough, one phone call later and Santa-in-disguise himself came over and plopped the Take That DVD (the LIMITED EDITION ONE no less w00t!) into my longing, eager hands  Thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaank youuuuuuuuuuuuuuu Rooooohaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnn (for putting up with the Fizzy annoyances muehehehe you rock my Lego blocks!!!!)
3...my ultimate favourite scene in entire DVD: a view of Jason's tush!!  It's toight I loiks!!! I was happily bopping and dancing away in my living room when I noticed the camera angle and immediately fell over myself trying to reach for the remote and PAUSE the scene! Hubbahubbabontots
p/s: MakTeh, have you gotten your copy yet? If not.. the screencap's for you, sugah!! Feast your eyes.. I can take more and put it into an animated gif too if you want! Hahaha! Jangan bgtau UncaBob!
